Update 4 - The Profiles - The Hard Boiled

So yeah, totally going to be working on the Yearbook Profiles first.

With that in mind, the section has a bit of a "here are what's in the Yearbook Profiles" addition which I thought I had but must have been edited out or put somewhere else that doesn't make sense anymore.

Also, starting with the Hard Boiled. I love The Hard Boiled,

What Changed from the Ashcan?

  1. More Moves
You're always going to see more moves in all the Profiles. The Ashcan has a limited number because we wanted to just capture one view of what the character could be. There are going to be ones you haven't seen in all the Profiles, plus some profiles you haven't seen yet.
  2. Changed I Know Who You Did Last Summer to getting a condition rather than spending a clue because I think that works. It may be a bit on the Delinquent side but that means it's a good target if you want to grab it as a Delinquent but it also fits with the get mad, get even ethos of the Profile
  3. Changed That's Actually Old Testament to let you choose on a 10+ if they're a rival or an enemy. You should have the freedom to make that choice rather than to hope for one result over the other.
  4. Changed Personal Growth. Everyone gets XP when you solve a mystery, so I feel like having that be there is redundant or worse going to drive people to solve mysteries as simply and as quickly as possible. Instead, it's going to be a case of when you put your friendships at risk to solve a mystery that's more in keeping with the character. It's not about physical risk, it's about emotional risk.
  5.  Changed the personal mystery to My childhood best friend vanished, and no one else seems to care rather than murdered because that felt too much like putting a season mystery onto a character.

That's the first Yearbook Profile. Not a lot changed, because the Hard Boiled was pretty solid. No onto the ... Sidekick.
