Text Update is Live!

Hey everyone, so a while ago I wrote a horror game called Slasher for the game magazine Codex. It was a lot of fun to write and was one of those games where I wanted to come up with a collaborative horror game that could try to put some suspense and tension without having someone do that kind of work. 

Not that it's bad, I love running horror games because I love creating that kind of feeling in people when playing games like that. That raw emotion is kind of awesome.

However, I like the challenge of coming up with something. Now the thing with a magazine is that we've got a word count limit because they need to fit it within the confines of the magazine. This version is a very much more fleshed out version of the game, so even if you have the Codex version you'll want to give this one a try.

What's different?

The first thing is that it has a new name. I did some searching and found that there's only about 1857230987019837 games called Slasher out there and so I wanted to certainly make it different than the others out there. That's why I went with  Behind You! because with the line as a mechanic I think it's particularly appropriate title.

The second change is that everything is described in more detail. The text in this version is actually about 10 times bigger than it was in Codex. I used this word count to do the following:

• Talk about safety tools in RPGS 
• How to run a collaborative game
• How to run horror collaboratively. 
• I go into more depth on the killer. 
• Provide how to play the game as a "campaign" which amounts to sequel rules
• Create a new way to reveal if the Killer is going to attack, with a risk/reward kind of benefit

Just Text Version?

I wanted to get it out there, because I'm notoriously slow then it comes to doing things like layout and things like that. That means if you get it now you will reap the benefit of having the full layout version at the price you bought the game at rather than the 10$ it's going to be when it's fully finished.
